Hi, I’m Mingyang Sun, currently a Master of City Planning candidate at MIT. I hold a Bachelor of Architecture from Southeast University and a Master of Landscape Architecture from the University of Pennsylvania, where I received the ALSA Student Award for Urban Design for my work on integrating informal settlements in Quito. After graduation, I gained three years of experience as an urban designer at Field Operations and Sasaki, focusing on master planning frameworks and environmental data analysis.
With a multidisciplinary background, I am passionate about integrating big data and machine learning to transform how we shape and experience urban spaces. By adopting a technology-driven approach to urban design, I aim to foster more responsive, equitable, and sustainable urban environments for the future.
I’m excited to integrate my design background with the field of computer science. In addition to my academic and professional research, I’m also a creative coder and web developer, with many exciting projects coming soon.
